Each week when we gather to worship and I see your faces, I am reminded that we have not just inherited a great story of faith – we have become a part of it. What you and I do today will impact the generations that come after us. As we look toward the future together, I invite you to consider your part in the ongoing story of Houston’s First Baptist Church. Pray, plan, dream and give with me so that men, women and children will clearly hear the Gospel story from this place, now and in the years to come. Explore the pages of this website and remember. Read the stories of others who have made this church their home and celebrate with them. Study the plans for the future as you prayerfully consider how you can support this vision for our church’s first capital campaign in nearly a generation. Our church family enjoys a rich legacy of faith. I’m reminded of that legacy every day that I work, pray and worship with you as your pastor. The historical marker at our west entrance reminds me that this church was born over 166 years ago – long before Houston was a maze of freeways and skyscrapers. The pastors’ photographs that line the hallway outside my office are reminders of the solid leadership we’ve been blessed with, and of the strong shoulders that have carried us this far.
